CIDR Data

Cribl Stream makes it easy to work with new data, by enabling you to upload and parse a sample file as if it were live streaming data. This vastly improves our customers' ability to design accurate, effective Pipelines, without risking error or disruption of their production data environments.

Upload Sample Data

Here, we'll download an existing sample data file, and then upload it into Cribl Stream.

  1. Download the Sample Netflow Data we've provided.
  2. Back in this sandbox, make sure Manage > Processing > Pipelines is selected in Stream's left pane. Then click Sample Data to refresh the right pane.
  3. Click the right pane's Import Data button, then select and upload the netflow_sample.csv file you just downloaded. Your interface should now look like this (click to enlarge):
  4. Back in this sandbox, make sure Manage > Processing > Pipelines is selected in Stream's left pane. Then click Sample Data to refresh the right pane.
  5. Click the right pane's Import Data button, then select and upload the netflow_sample.csv file you just downloaded. Your interface should now look like this (click to enlarge): datagen screenshot
  6. Click Save as Sample File. By saving the file within Stream, you've made it available to preview and manipulate.

Now that we have a sample of data to work with, we are ready to start playing!
