Course Overview
Cribl, the Data Engine for IT and Security, empowers organizations to transform their data strategy. Customers use Cribl to collect, process, route, and analyze all IT and security data, delivering the flexibility, choice, and control required to adapt to their ever-changing needs.
Cribl Edge combines the power of our AppScope open source project with the capabilities of Cribl Stream to create the first truly "intelligent" agent. Edge was built to be easy to manage and deploy from a UI similar to Stream's. And in addition to "normal" agent capabilities (like collecting system metrics, tailing log files, etc.), Edge has innovative capabilities like AUTODISCOVERY of log files!
In this tutorial, you're going to learn how to install Edge on a Linux system, as well as how to configure it in its graphical UI, and you're going to get to explore it a bit.
By the way, Edge can also be deployed on Windows servers! We wouldn't want you to think it's just locked to collecting, enriching, reducing, and shipping Linux logs, metrics, and traces.
This tutorial will evolve as the Edge product evolves, so feel free to come back at any time to see what's new.
Let's get started!
