Kubernetes Observability with Cribl Edge
Welcome to our tutorial sandbox! Our interactive course walks you through installing Cribl Edge on a Kubernetes cluster using our Helm Charts. You'll then configure sources for capturing logs and metrics generated by Kubernetes and your applications running in the cluster. Finally, you'll visualize the data in Grafana using some pre-built dashboards.
It should take about 45 minutes to complete this course.
This sandbox instance will stay running for 24 hours, after which you can get a new sandbox, but your progress will be lost. To re-connect to the sandbox, just come back to https://cribl.io/try-cribl and re-enter your email address.
Conventions
In this tutorial, the following three formats indicate (respectively) actions you must take to proceed; content you can optionally skip; and commands or content you'll need to paste into Stream.
Important text shows actions you need to take. For each of these sections, further sections will depend on you having taken these actions in Stream or Kibana.
Notes contain optional steps. You can skip these without breaking the scenario.
Preformatted text contains content to be pasted into
Stream. There is an easy Copy option available at the upper-right corner of these sections.
Getting Help
If you get stuck during this tutorial feel free to reach out to us on the Cribl Community Slack channel.
Stream should automatically log you in, but if you're idle for too long or get disconnected, it's possible you'll be prompted for a login. The credentials are:
Username | Password |
---|---|
admin | cribldemo |
You might want to store these to a text file or paper now, just in case.
