Search Page Navigation

Let's start with a tour of the Search page.

Is anybody home?

Ensure that search-home-icon Search Home is selected in the left navigation bar.

We understand that you may be new to this, and even if you aren't you may not always want to start a brand new search from scratch (ain't nobody got time for that). That's why the Home page has quite a few handy options for getting started quickly.

search-start
LetterNamePurpose
AAvailable DatasetsShows all of the configured Cribl Search datasets. Datasets are a way to organize and reference a set of data. Think of a dataset as an identifier for a “container” of similar data. Clicking one will automatically populate a search to retrieve that dataset's events.
BHistoryShows all recently run searches for the logged-in user, allowing you to quickly select and re-run searches that you've used before.
CSample SearchesA list of handy pre-configured sample searches. These are useful as a reference or as a template to start with that you can then alter to suit your needs. Feel free to use these often when you're starting out (it's not considered cheating and we promise no one will judge you).
Docs. Docs everywhere.

More details regarding the Search page can be found on the Search Overview page of the Cribl Search documentation.
