Ok data Jedi in training, you're probably chomping at the bit to do some actual searching, so let's jump in and get your feet wet before we proceed with the rest of the tour.
Start Here
- Ensure that
Search Home
is selected in the left navigation bar. - Under
Available Datasets
, hover overcribl_search_sample
and clickSearch Now
.
As you can see, after we run a search, the page changes to provide the search results and much more functionality.
Search Page Overview (post-search)

Letter | Name | Purpose |
---|---|---|
A | Sampling | Adjust the sample ratio of data. |
B | Time picker | Adjust the time range of the search. |
C | Search button | Executes the currently populated query. |
D | Opens the Search options menu. | |
E | Query text box | Where you enter the query to execute. |
F | Events tab | Shows raw (non-aggregated) search results. |
G | Fields tab | Displays all the returned fields on a table. |
H | Chart tab | Charts aggregated search results. |
I | Details | Opens a troubleshooting modal that shows execution details of the search. |
J | Actions | Actions that can be taken for the currently executed search. (Save a search for later use, add the search to a dashboard, export raw results, etc.). |
K | Histogram | Interactive histogram of the current search results. |
L | Events tab options | Allows you to alter display settings for the events. |
