Search Page Navigation

Ok data Jedi in training, you're probably chomping at the bit to do some actual searching, so let's jump in and get your feet wet before we proceed with the rest of the tour.

Start Here
  1. Ensure that search-home-icon Search Home is selected in the left navigation bar.
  2. Under Available Datasets, hover over cribl_search_sample and click Search Now.

As you can see, after we run a search, the page changes to provide the search results and much more functionality.

Search Page Overview (post-search)

ASamplingAdjust the sample ratio of data.
BTime pickerAdjust the time range of the search.
CSearch buttonExecutes the currently populated query.
Dgear-iconSearch optionsOpens the Search options menu.
EQuery text boxWhere you enter the query to execute.
FEvents tabShows raw (non-aggregated) search results.
GFields tabDisplays all the returned fields on a table.
HChart tabCharts aggregated search results.
IDetailsOpens a troubleshooting modal that shows execution details of the search.
JActionsActions that can be taken for the currently executed search. (Save a search for later use, add the search to a dashboard, export raw results, etc.).
KHistogramInteractive histogram of the current search results.
LEvents tab optionsAllows you to alter display settings for the events.

The help icon help-icon (located left of the query bar, directly beneath the gear icon gear-icon) is extremely useful for accessing the Search Language Documentation directly from within Cribl Search.
