Permissions Check

Create a New Cribl.Cloud Account

1. Click Start Sandbox.
2. Click Sign Up.
3. Enter an email address or Continue with Google.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions for account creation.
5. Verify your email in a new tab.
   Don't Close This Tab

   A new tab will open after you verify your email. Do not close the previous Verify Your Email tab.

6. Follow the instructions for creating an Organization.
7. Click Launch.
   important

   You are now logged in to your Cribl.Cloud account. You may close this tab if desired.

8. Navigate back to the Sandbox browser tab. It should still say verify your email.
9. Refresh the page.
10. Continue along with the Sandbox.

Use an Existing Cribl.Cloud Account

1. Click Start Sandbox
2. Log into your Cribl.Cloud portal.
3. Select your Organization.
4. Perform the following Permissions Check steps:

Stream Admin Permissions Check

1. From the Cribl.Cloud home page, click the button for Stream.
   Stop

   If it's greyed out, you will need to be granted the Stream Admin role; perform one of the Remediation Steps below to continue with this Sandbox.

2. Click the default Worker Group (or another Worker Group if you will be not be using default for this Sandbox).
   Stop

   If there are no Worker Groups available, you will need to be granted the Stream Admin role; perform one of the Remediation Steps below to continue with this Sandbox.

Remediation Steps

If any of the above actions were unsuccessful, proceed with one of these options.

• Submit a request to your IT team for Stream Admin access to the Cribl Stream product within your Organization.
• Create a new Organization using a different email address.

  • Note: Everything in this Sandbox is available in the free version of Cribl.Cloud, no need to worry about costs when creating a new account.

Cribl Security

Cribl takes security seriously. We've provided granular access control at both the Organization and Product levels. You need Stream Admin access only to the Cribl Stream product, not to the Cribl.Cloud account as a whole.

Stream Workers

For those of you new to using Cribl.Cloud, we'll need to provision Cribl-managed Stream Workers before we can continue. If you already have another functioning Worker Group, feel free to use that instead and skip these instructions.

Turn on your workers

1. Back on the Cribl.Cloud home page, click Manage Stream on the left
2. Click the default Worker Group
3. In the submenu, click the Group Settings tab
4. On the General Settings left tab, toggle Provision Infrastructure to Yes
5. Click Save
6. Click Stream at the top left product selector, and in the resulting sidebar, click Cribl to return to the home page
