Course Overview

Welcome to In to Win, A Simple-as-Pie High-Fidelity Data Collection and Onboarding Story Featuring Cribl AppScope & Stream. This course shows how easy Cribl AppScope makes it to instrument any application and get data into any tool, using Cribl Stream.

To do this, we'll be instrumenting real, complex applications like Firefox and Chrome inside a full desktop environment. We'll also show how to easily instrument any Linux service. We'll analyze the resulting data using the popular tools Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.

This course highlights a number key concepts:

1. Cribl AppScope can instrument any application.
   • We highlight this by instrumenting off-the-shelf apps like Firefox.
2. Cribl Stream can easily route data to any tool.
   • QuickConnect can simply route data from AppScope to multiple tools.
   • Stream Pipelines refine data before sending to destinations.
3. AppScope data can be analyzed in any tool.
   • Metrics to Prometheus.
   • Events to Elasticsearch.
   • Works with any other tool, as well with Stream.
